T-Splines for RhinoWorkflowsT-Splines brings four new modeling workflows into Rhino. Each is based on T-Splines’ ability to create models with optimal control and perfect compatibility with NURBS. Workflow #1: Subdivision style box modeling. Start with a mesh box, or lay out your own starting shape with polylines. Next, pull on faces to add geometry, insert more control, and generate a smooth model with no gaps or blends. Jewelry case study. Organic character modeling tutorial. Video tutorials. Workflow #2: Convert mesh files to NURBS. Start with an .obj mesh file from Rhino or a third-party polygonal modeler. Use T-Splines to smooth the model and use it as a NURBS. Video tutorial. Read tutorial (pdf). Workflow #3: Surface from Curves. Lay out the curves to define your entire model. Select the curves all at once, walk through the three-step wizard, and create a smooth model with no blends, trims, or fillets. Read case study. Beginner tutorial (pdf) Intermediate tutorial (video) Advanced tutorial (pdf). Workflow #4: Merging. Merge polysurfaces together to create a single surface. Since these surfaces are smooth and continuous, they are easy to edit, offset, and machine. | |||
