Registering the t-splines pluginEvery T-Splines Maya plugin is in learning edition mode by default. FILES MODIFIED USING THE LEARNING EDITION ARE NOT READABLE BY THE COMMERCIAL VERSION AND ARE NOT CONVERTIBLE TO NURBS OR POLYGONS. To unlock your learning edition and turn it into the commercial version, you must register your plugin. Registering your plugin is an easy three-step process. Step 1: You send your machine ID to support@tsplines.com (What is my machine ID?) Step 2: T-Splines support sends you a license Step 3: You install the license Step 1: You send your machine ID to support@tsplines.com.You can choose either a node-locked or a floating license (floating licenses are an additional $100). In general, we would recommend a floating license if you will want to run T-Splines on a network, and a node-locked license if you will run T-Splines on a single machine or a laptop. For a node-locked license, we need your machine ID. For a floating license, we need the machine ID and operating system of your server. What is my machine ID? Your "Machine ID" is the serial number on your network card (also called the "Mac address" or "Ethernet address") used to identify your machine. Here's how to get it: Windows: ◦ From the Start menu, choose "Run." ◦ Type "cmd" and push Enter (don't type the quotes). ◦ Type "ipconfig /all" and push Enter. ◦ Information on your network devices will be displayed. The "Physical Address" is what we need to know. Linux: ◦ Open a system console ("Terminal" or "XTerm"). ◦ Type "/sbin/ifconfig" and push Enter. ◦ Network device information will display. The Ethernet address usually looks something like "HWaddr 0A:B1:23:CD:4E:F5". This number is what we need to know. Macintosh: ◦ Select "System Preferences" from the Apple pull-down window. ◦ Select the "Network" pane. ◦ On the Location option, select Automatic. ◦ On the Show option, select Built-In Ethernet. ◦ Select the Ethernet Tab. ◦ The "Ethernet ID" is what we need to know. On systems that have multiple Ethernet cards, following these instructions may list multiple devices; please send the serial numbers for all of them. If the instructions above don't work for you, please contact your system administrator. If your system administrator cannot help, please send an e-mail to support@tsplines.com, and we will help you. Step 2: T-Splines Support sends you a licenseJust sit back, relax, and we send you your license file within one business day, guaranteed.Step 3: You install the licenseWhen you receive the license file, put it in the same directory as the plug-in and remove any other T-Splines .lic files that you already have there. The typical locations of these directories are listed below.Windows: C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Maya8.5\bin\plug-ins\ Mac OS X: /Users/Shared/Autodesk/maya/8.5/plug-ins/ Linux: /usr/aw/maya/bin/plug-ins/ |
