Student Version

Postby aeronautica » Mon Apr 02, 2012 4:47 pm

I have downloaded Rhino 5 beta and I also downloaded the student T-Splines version from the AutoDesk website. My question is will this student version work with Rhino 5? Works fine with Rhino 4. If it does how do you install it in Rhino 5?

Thanks,

Larry

To use the student version with Rhino 5, you'll need to grab the 64-bit installer from tsplines.com/latestversion.

I've had a few questions about the licensing for the student version lately, so I'll just echo it here: the student version is fully functional, expires after 3 years, and the license agreement does not allow for commercial usage (the big difference between this and the academic license we used to sell for $199, which did allow for commercial usage).

Best,
Matt

Hello Matt,

Best wishes to you for Easter.

This post raises another question. Rhino 5.0 changes every few days when McNeel transmits a fresh beta version for installation on my computer.

I am still using tSplines in Rhino 4.0, since it is a stable and familiar installation. But what would happen if I installed tSplines in Rhino 5.0 beta? Would I need to re-install tSplines in each new installation of Rhino 5.0? Would this use up all 9 lives of my tSplines license?

Thank you for your insights.

Michael
