can I use tspline commands to correct a surface by Rhino?

A support and feedback forum for Autodesk T-Splines Plug-in for Rhino users.

can I use tspline commands to correct a surface by Rhino?

Postby cmrhm » Fri Aug 05, 2011 7:21 pm

Never used tspline before, but heard this is the tool our architects should get familiar with. Very powerful. I have several curves and use rhino command patch and others to make a nurbs surface. But it is saddle-like, meaning its curvature is negative.

I wonder if I use tsplines, will I get better control and results?

Post a file with some example curves and we can take a crack at it. :)

Hi cmrhm,
I tried to make a surface with the curves you provide using T-Splines but the result was not good enough.
If you are just trying to make a surface that passes through those boundary curves smoothly I think that the Patch solution is pretty good....
If you are looking for a specific transition between the boundary curves T-Splines can help. But you will need more curves since the boundary curves are not enough information to make the surface.
Feel free to ask.

Juan:

You mean I need to add more isocurve? Is there a command for doing this? I tried to use pull and push manually to adjust the point location, but I think this process contains errors.

Normally how will you add isocurve besides the edge curves?

No, I mean to add more curves to the boundary before making the surface.
