Tutorial for this?

Tutorial for this?

Postby Paraglobal » Tue May 15, 2007 10:20 am

Hello to all

I'm new to T-splines and one of my main questions is still what can I do with it.

Can someone be so gentile to +- make a tutorial on how to design this with Tsplines?

Although I don't know how to use the plug-in yet, this shape seems perfect for it.

Thanks
Sergio Silva

Sergio,

Sorry for my late reply--I've been out of town. Could you clarify what type of 3d shape you are looking for? Should this be a mold, a full 3d character,...?

Cow

Postby Paraglobal » Mon May 21, 2007 1:09 pm

Hi Matt

Thanks, any help is welcome.
This is a concept toy made by my college who is a designer here at Paraglobal.

This cow is part of a group of toys that we are planning to develop, this is spare time personal project so it's something that we will develop to present to potential customers.

I thought that I could also use this project to get serious about t-splines and also use the final project to better show t-splines potential to our customers that are working with Rhino.

What I need is a 3D model of this because this would be produced in a mould, the guiding lines are good enough, I don't understand yet t-splines full potential.

Thanks
Sergio

Hi Sergio,

Here is what I got so far. I'm pretty lost with the head/neck/shoulders insertion and proportions. Can you show me a side view of it?

Pay attention to the number of cotrol points in this model, it's really low and easy to work with.

Cheers,

Ricardo

Thanks Ricardo

I like the result, I will try again downloading the t-splines plug-in again because my previous has expired.

The neck and side view we didn't create any sketch yet, I will have to start modelling something and then ask on the fly to my colegue the designer.

Thanks
Sergio

Ricardo and Sergio have created a nice tutorial based on this sketch about how to make organic toys using T-Splines. You can download the pdf tutorial here.
