bracalet

Postby calvo » Mon Sep 29, 2008 10:51 am

Hi all together,

Finaly I finish my bracalet, but I have a few questions!

What can I do again the flat surfaces? Can I solve it in the wirecage?
I use the bend command to bend the wirecage, is there a way to do it more precisely,
every time I have to bend something like this it gives me the creeps!
Specialy in this case bending 90º corners!

Thanks for solutions lol lol lol!

Hi Miguel, nice model and nice renders!
About the flat surface, If you post the file maybe I can help you.....basically it depends on how you did it. Did you use the control points?, or the surface? as input to make the main wrist bending.

Hi Miguel,
It seems that you bend the control polygon in order to get the bracalet. I think that is why you get a non smooth surface.
Basically, you have 3 ways of bending that flat T-Splines surface: 1-Bending the control polygon (like you did it) Can work some times but not in this case.
2-Bending the T-Splines srf control points, this way is similar to the previous one but the diference is that you can add control points (without changing the shape) in order to get a more accurate bending. So, more control points, more smooth bending, and you keep it as a T-Splines srf.
3- Bending the nurbs surface. You have to convert the flat t-splines surface into a nurbs, then, just bend the nurbs. This is the most accurate and smooth way, althougth you wont keep the T-Splines srf and its editability.
Do this make sense to you?

Hey Santo,

Sor far so good the second way bending the TS surface ( previos tsInsertPoint) it my choice.
I dont want to go back to nurbs, but maybe when I mesh it with TS I get a good result. I try it
and post it.

Thanks

For the moment, when I add points after the first time I get the message:
Error: General error while calculating surface. You may need to restart the program. This is a bug.
Error: Exception caught while refreshing surface.

Hmm, these are bad. It means that something crashed in the plug-in. It prints this message and tries not to crash, but you should restart Rhino to avoid further problems.

If we can get the same result here then often we can fix the problem. Will you please send the file and information on how to make this happen to support at tsplines dot com? Thanks.
