Problem with a smooth surface

Problem with a smooth surface

Postby Eduard » Tue Jan 03, 2017 11:53 am

Dear Tspliners,
again I am asking for your help with the modeling.
On my model there are two symetrical corners, with a starpoint.
If you look at the model in zebra view, it seems not completly smooth (mainly in those corners, at the starpoints).
Please am I missing something?
Thank you very much for any help.
Happy modeling in a new year by the way!

Hi Eduard.

No, you are are nos missing anything. T-Splines surfaces have C2 (curvature continuity) except on the StarPoints where it is C1 (Tangent continuity). This continuity it is just on a tinny spot of the StarPoint, That is why you get a slightly different zebra analysis... In the practice, and depending on where the StarPoints is, all the surface is smooth.
