i tried, no luck, but i noticed heaps of double vertex points? interested in seeing how it gets resolved?

having backface colour settings really helps show up probs quickly.. if somone fixes this can you do a vid on how you went about looking for the problem, located it then fixed it?

Hi

I wasn't able to smooth it out by welding all the loose verts as Chris so clearly pointed out. There 3 naked edges around the inside of eye that must be deleted. After that run the (remove crease) command over the entire surface and that should do it. After that you should subdivide/simple all the n-gon faces to get the surface to properly behave. As they are messing up the iso flow around the star points. Use repair / edit layout / shown-gons:YES to clearly point them out. Nice model it's been fun to play with.

The model has 24 duplicate vertices.
Run tsExtractControlPolygon, hide the surface or move it out of the way, then run SelDup (Select Duplicates) and delete these extra edges. Re-create the Surface using tsFromLines, setting MaxAutoFace to 6 to cover the N-gons.
SelDup does not display the extra TSpline vertices, but it would be great for troubleshooting if it did (this is a hint for the TSplines brain trust!).
Be sure and post this model when you're finished, it's looking good!

Displaying stacked vertices with red circles around them (or something) is on our internal wish list.

By the way, we do know where most of those stacked vertices come from -- when you extrude something using Alt+drag, it adds TWO commands to the undo queue -- the first one is the extrude, and the second one is the drag. So when you undo, it just undoes the drag, but leaves the stacked, extruded vertices alone. You have to hit Ctrl+Z twice to undo the extrude as well.

However, if you're working in box mode, you won't SEE the extrude, so you usually only hit Ctrl+Z once. This is the source of most of the problems. It felt like one command, and hitting Ctrl+Z feels like one undo, and visually looks like the problem has been undone, therefore confusion and frustration. I'd LOVE for Ctrl+Z to undo both the drag and the extrude in one step, but it's a surprisingly large problem -- Rhino really doesn't let us mess with their undo queue much. I don't know if this is our largest user pain point at the moment, but I'm guessing it's top three :).
