Moving faces

Postby lrksl » Mon Oct 02, 2006 4:59 pm

I think it would be great if faces could be selected not just for extrusion but also just to be able to move (and scale or rotate) the faces. This would be easier that selecting control vertices aand would be a step in the right direction of being able to manipulate isopaarms, partial isoparms, and vertcices(intersections of isoparms) directly.

Again, I think it woud be vvery helpful to have a universal move/scale/rotate manipulator in Rhio and T-Splinnes . I am talking about a manipulator like those in Silo, Maya, and Modo.

Also, in some of the SUBD modeleros, they have a bevel and an extrude command. The differences are subtle, but maybe t-splines could use the two commands.

I love the ability to extrude in T-Splines but I feel it needs to have n=more options such as how smoothe or how boxy the extrusion sould be, it would also be nice to have a multiple extrude where you select faces, extrude them, then - by using a move,scale/rootate manipulator, manipulate the extruded face and the click again to contineu extruding and have the changes applied t all subsequent extrusions withing that commmand.

Finally, the ability to sysmetrically extrude faes on opposite sides of the model would be wonderful

Thanks for the ideas!

I'll stick them on the wishlist. In general, we would like to make a box modeling flow more usable with T-Splines, and the extrusion tools will need some work to get there.
