Help needed to finalize a tspipe operation

Postby ibonneau » Wed Feb 15, 2017 12:59 am

Hi all,

A real novice here trying to finish a project which lays heavily on tspipe

1. after running the command and before applying thicken to it I would like to fix the overlapping tube section - maybe merge them.

I couldn't find a way to do it but I'm very unfamiliar with t-splines - any help would be greatly appreciated.

2. the actual file has 200+ areas like that and its getting hard for my computer, I thought working in small section would be preferable but I could find how to merge the resulting tsplines bodies together.

Many thx !!!

Hi ibonneau.

1- The angle between the two branches is too small, that is why you get overlapping surfaces after making the tsPipe.
My suggestion would be to merge those two sections that are overlapping. You need to delete the interior faces (the ones that are in touch) and tsWeld the points by pairs. This will make the "Y" branche longer, but you should get rid of the overlapping sections. Make sense?
Other way would be to manually move those section rings of edges... But you will loose the actual transition curvature.

2-You can use tsBridge from one face of one section to the face of the other section.
