a clip I did for community at 3dcadjewelry.

TSplines TsPipe crossover ring. Quick and dirty.. At the developers, is it just me or is selecting edge loops much harder to do now?

updated blog too

I don't know, it's possible we broke something. I'll note, though, that there are probably five or six ways to select an edge loop -- are you referring to double-clicking? That seems like the easiest one to break. If you have some model where it seems inconsistent, we'd love to play with it.

Hey Adam, Ya I dbl click, usually it worked really well, but it seem sto be on off now, sometimes it works sometimes it does'nt. I have not played much in Tsplines since the update, maybe 3 or four models so not a biggy for me. Just noticed it in that model in paticular, you will probably see, every now and then it works great, other times i can dbl click as much as i like to no effect.. just wierd...

To the Aussies (and anyone else) thast interested, I scanned the article from the Australian Jeweller Magazine, about cad/cam, the article features the Tsplines cross. the images didnt get the annotations I supplied unfortunately, but it think its apparent that its a Tsplines piece.

(easier to read on Blog I think due to better formatting)

Hi Chris, I have been re-reading all this topic and I have to say that all the info here is priceless! The quantity and quality of all these projects and models is stunning.
I love how you show us all the manufacturing process. You could write a jewelry book with all these,... and a really good one!
Thank you so much for sharing this.

Hi Juan, it will, it's also getting pave diamonds above the head area, but for a client in Israel and a copy of an existing piece, this will be dual colors, half white, half yellow with a black pearl, 10% different to the original, you know, the rules of copyright ;)

Guys, I am getting lots of nice feedback, thanks. One of the biggest requests is the toolbar setup I'm using, many of you tried to copy it but have issues with copied flyout menu's not working right, for you guys here is a clip.

hanks man, i dont have much time to do "process" pictures anymore, believe it or not i am averaging about 5 rings a day now, so my eyes and brain are fried... happily i only do 1 or two a week that i have to finish myself, the rest are outside jewellers so cad only.. getting lazy and fat...

[edit] had a query about why the top pic is soft and the bottom is more mechanical, i could explian about inserting edge loops but a model woudl explain it better, i lost original after converting to tsplines, but knocked up another one quick. process = sweep2 with an inner and outter rail, using a degree3 single closed curve, then tsconvert and merge some faces, then insert edges. hope its usefull.

watch this space, potential tsplines client, requested some help to complete a model, I use this oppertunity to show the old way, surface modelling, to get her over her immediate hurdle, but will do the followup video of the tsplines method after she gets her copy (in her xmas wishlist)
