Two ways of modelling a ring

Hi everybody,
I made some videos for a user on how to make this kind of surface for a ring: RingShape screenshot
As this is not a tutorial the video is very fast and no explanations at all but I thougth that this may be usefull for someone.
In this first video ( http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1988887/MiguelSpiralRing%28FromCurves%29.mov ) I made it using curves as input.
In the second video ( http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1988887/MiguelSpiralRing%28BoxModeling%29.mov ) I use a box modelling workflow.
These videos show only how I made the main surface. After that I finish it with tsThicken and some CPoint manipulation......
Attached is the model file, with the main and the finished surface.
