T-Splines 2.0 for Rhino Beta Released Print E-mail

Provo, Utah - March 12, 2009

T-Splines, Inc., creators of precise and flexible 3D surface modeling tools with full industry standard compatibility, today announced the beta release of T-Splines 2.0 for Rhino, available for free download.

The 2.0 version adds several new tools and workflows to generate free-form surfaces and brings a full suite of polygonal modeling techniques into Rhino. T-Splines can be used to create an entire model, or they can be used to add organic components to Rhino models. T-Splines gives Rhino users a way of exploring shapes easily and quickly in an intuitive way, and helps designers shorten the time between imagination and building 3D models.   • tsSurfacePoints: new command. Points can now be manipulated directly on the T-Splines surface

Without making any compromises to the unique organic shape of the PC Pillow design, T-Splines was able to convert the model to a gap-free, smooth and manufacturable NURBS surface model.

The latest results of T-Splines isogeometric analysis will be presented at the NAFEMS Regional Summit in Hampton Virginia, Oct. 29-31.

T-Splines findings will be presented by Dr. Tom Hughes of UT-Austin in a conference keynote addresses and in greater detail by Mike Scott later in the conference. Matt Sederberg, CEO of T-Splines, Inc. will also attend.

T-Splines, Inc. has been named the recipient of a $100,000 grant award as a 2008-2009 Utah Centers of Excellence company.

The Centers of Excellence program provides grant funding to help technologies developed at Utah’s colleges and universities transition out of the lab and into industry. Such advanced technologies can help create great new companies and great new products at Utah’s existing companies. Both of these mechanisms create high paying, long term jobs for Utah’s citizens.
